Dr. Seth Yates, B.Sc.(Kin), N.D.,RAc.

Dr. Seth Yates, B.Sc.(Kin), N.D.,RAc.

Dr. Seth Yates BSc. N.D. is the owner of the Yates Naturopathic Clinic. He has been in practice since 2008 and is registered as a Naturopath, Acupuncturist and Kinesiologist. In addition to running a busy practice Dr. Yates has taught multiple seminars, appeared several TV programs as a health expert and created the in-depth health and fitness website, www.YIPFit.com.

Special Achievements:

Within his first year of practice Seth was voted the best acupuncturist in Kanata. Seth graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine winning two awards as the best student in physical medicine and in botanical medicine. Seth also graduated with honours from the University of Western Ontario.

Dr. Marie-Andree Nowlan has returned to Ottawa after leaving in 2007 to complete a rigorous 4-year medical program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario, graduating with honors in 2011. She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology and premedical science studies at the University of Ottawa. Prior to relocating to Ottawa for family reasons, Marie-Andree had been running a busy practice in her hometown in New Brunswick since 2011.

Marie-Andree recognizes that each person is unique and provides an individualized approach to treating her patients that is both comprehensive and effective. Marie-Andree looks forward to providing care to children, young adults, and adults alike using nutritional medicine, supplements, botanical medicine, lifestyle factors and acupuncture. She also has a special interest in women’s health, fertility/pregnancy, and endocrine conditions. Marie-Andree is honored to have the opportunity to educate and improve the health of those in her community.

Jaimee Fleming, Physiotherapist

Jaimee Fleming, Physiotherapist

Jaimee Fleming is a registered physiotherapist with a holistic approach to treatment. She believes that education is a key component in a well rounded treatment plan which empowers patients to take an active role in their therapy.

After graduating with a B.Sc. In Biology from the University of Guelph in 2004, she worked in research for a number of years before realizing she wanted a career that involved working with people.
While contemplating this, Jaimee worked as a personal trainer before realizing that physiotherapy seemed like an ideal fit with her fitness interests and background.
Jaimee has obtained experience treating many types of conditions including Parkinson’s, stroke, CP, MS, complex MVAs, concussion and vestibular disorders. She also has a special interest in women’s health physiotherapy and has training in pelvic floor/incontinence rehabilitation and pre/post natal physiotherapy.

Mark Junkin, Registered Massage Therapist

Mark is a very experienced massage therapist that utilizes swedish massage, deep tissue and PNF stretching. Mark is also trained in Lymphatic Detox massage which is a Naturopathic hydrotherapy technique for detox and immune boosting.

Sonya Schirmacher, Registered Holistic Nutritionist

Sonya Schirmacher is a Holistic Nutritionist (RHN), wellness coach, health blogger, and former clinical nutritionist at the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Center. Sonya has been a healthy food advocate for most of her life having grown up in the industry through her family’s health food business. She came to this profession after experiencing many health issues herself including weight gain, constant bloating, leaky gut, and sugar cravings. She found a nutritionist that could help her and she knew that she had to make this her new career.

After graduating from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, Sonya worked at the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Center where she provided nutritional guidance to those with cancer and also for people wanting to prevent cancer. Through this work she discovered a desire to help women struggling with gut and hormonal issues and she has now made that her focus.

Amanda Burke, Registered Holistic Nutritionist

Amanda Burke is a registered holistic nutritionist who will educate individuals about the health benefits of natural nutrition. Holistic nutrition is a special combination of modern science and time-tested wisdom based on the philosophy that each person has unique nutritional requirements. She believes that nutritionists are educators in wellness and prevention.

After having gastric-bypass surgery in 2009, Amanda started her health and lifestyle change. Amanda studied nutrition at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition graduating in 2016. Amanda wants to work with you to find your body’s nutritional imbalances that are holding you back from health and wellness.
